Is our future already set? They say time is a dimension. If it is, it must be determinate. For example, I don’t know what exists at the location in space which is, say, 15 km away from me, in northwest direction, but I know that it is determinate, that, at this particular instant in time, that point on the surface of earth is in a precise, determined state. For example, let us say that this point is inside a garden, and a garden bench is located there. I cannot see this bench, but I know that it exists, and that if I run through time, towards it with an infinitely high velocity, I can reach it and find its state at this instant in time.
Now, if Time is a dimension, then according to this analogy, the state of a particular location in space 15 years from now must be determinate. I do not know it, but I know it is determinate, that I cannot change it in just the same way as I cannot change the state of a location 15 km away from me at this instant in time. I can reach it if I run through space at an infinitely high speed.
Hence, the future of each and every point in space is already determined. I cannot change it, nor can you. Then why do college assignments, when doing them wouldn’t change the future, as it is already set? Realize the truth, you were meant to read this piece, we were meant to start a crusade against the menace that is the college assignment.
Realize that, tomorrow, it may end. Isn’t that worth living for? Isn’t that worth losing a few grades for?
Alrite, I had an extra pint. But I make sense, don’t I?
