Ghalibiat

As he contemplated on how life had become a misery in existence, Ghalib's face was lit up with a sly smile. A characteristic that separated him from the humanity around him. People would look at him, deep in debts, without work, and without children, and wonder what made him smile.

And he muttered to himself, lying on his deewan,

"Humein maloom hai jannat ki haqeeqat, lekin
Dil ke khush rakhne ko, Ghalib ye khayal achha hai."


Pretty fair it is that Ghalib drank and gambled, for if he hadn't, the spiritual gurus of the world would have been without their jobs.
