Of easy visitors and tough love

This post is written in exhilaration and gloom. The number of visitors to this site, since July 04, when it was effectively born, rose to 10,000 today. And with this post, the reason of arrival for 85% of those visitors – “Bulla ki jaana” lyrics; and their translation to English; will no longer be visible on the homepage of the blog. Soon, google will index the site again, and google search results for “Bulla ki Jaana lyrics” will no longer show this site’s homepage in the search results; and the site will return to normalcy, with two digit per day visitor figures and the like.

Anyways, I read this quote in TOI’s editorial today. Appealed, so its here -

I'd never stoop to such levels just to get visitors to my site from the search results of "Bulla ki jaana lyrics"

Gaurav's Observation

I recently went to a 'FREE' Creative Writing Workshop with my a few friends. They had various exercises, one of them being "Observation". Well, it was basically to observe an object around you and write whatever comes to your mind, in 2 minutes.

Gaurav Sharma, one particularly sane friend of mine, observed a pen. Here's a reproduction of the original -

The Pen

A cylindrical object reminds me of the secondary rocket boosters attached to the space shuttle launched at the Open California bay. Reminds me of the stability it provides to rockets and the only thing which comes back and can be reused 56 times.

I think space shuttle launches can be made much more attractive if these rockets were colored in Black and Red. This sling attachment made me wonder how could we could further improve the security aspects attached to it. Happy rocketing.

Ghalibiat

As he contemplated on how life had become a misery in existence, Ghalib's face was lit up with a sly smile. A characteristic that separated him from the humanity around him. People would look at him, deep in debts, without work, and without children, and wonder what made him smile.

And he muttered to himself, lying on his deewan,
